(gentle upbeat music) - We collect data in a range of ways. We collect data through standardised assessments at the start of the year, but we also have ongoing assessments, formative style tests that will collect data. We look at data in literacy, in numeracy specifically, we then start to see patterns and trends both in terms of a cohort strength or a cohort weakness, but then we also look at individual students as well in areas that they might require support. - Having to record constantly what changes you are making, makes you more accountable and makes it better to be able to remember all the students and the changes that they need. - The tracking of that data over the year too has been really interesting because then you can see has a child progressed in terms of the number of adjustments that are being made? So you could see have we had growth? Have we increased our support? Have we decreased our support? And that ultimately helps in your communication with parents as you have that tangible data that you can share with them in terms of how their child is progressing. - We have an active list of students so all of the staff are able to at any time ensure that they know exactly which kids on the NCCD are in their classrooms.
