An imputed disability might be diagnosed sometime in the future though it doesn't have to be. There's no expiry date on imputing a disability. It's not necessarily permanent, a disability is not necessarily permanent. And even if it is, the adjustments provided, they may well change over time, whether they're imputed or formally diagnosed. I think I might have mentioned this before, the student's conditions should be reviewed at least annually but more rightly on a continuous basis, and continue to update the adjustments and make sure they're appropriate. It's up to the school team to decide whether it's appropriate to engage with the family on whether a diagnosis would benefit the student, and as always, the best interest of the student should be the first consideration.
