Question. Why is there a registration in the new NCCD website?

Answer. The new NCCD website is a public site that is open to anyone. However, registration is required in order to access and complete certified e-learning courses.

Question. How do I register?

Answer. You can register to the NCCD website by selecting the Register link on the topmost menu and filling in your details.

When you select the link, the system will display a form. You can complete the form with your details. Please select a username and password of your choice. Please make sure that the password length is a maximum of 13 and minimum of 10 characters with lowercase, uppercase and numeric characters.

You can select your role from the drop-down list. You can register with your personal email address if you are a parent, guardian or carer, or if you select ‘Other’ as a role.

However, if you register as a principal, teacher or a related professional support role, you will have to provide your official email address (ie school or departmental domain).

After submitting the form, you will receive an instruction to check your inbox for an email from [email protected]. You may need to check your junk or spam mail folder if the email does not arrive in your inbox. You need to select the link from the confirmation email to complete the registration process. You will not be able to login until you have done so.

Question. What should I do if my registration confirmation email cannot be located?

Answer. Check your junk or spam mail folder. If the email cannot be located, contact the helpdesk.

Question. What is an official email address?

Question. What do I do if I forgot my password?

You will need to enter your username or your registered email address. We will send an email to your registered email address with instructions for resetting your password.

Question. How do I find all certified e-learning courses in the website?

Answer. From the main navigation, hover over 'Professional learning' and select 'E-learning' from the dropdown.

Alternatively, go directly to the professional learning page. A list of all certified e-learning courses will be shown. Select any from the list to see the course overview.

Question. How do I start an e-learning course?

Answer. From the course overview, select the Start button for any of the lessons. You will be asked to sign in if you haven’t already done so.

Each course overview provides information about the course such as objective, structure and estimated time needed. Lessons that are included in the course are presented as tiles.

To begin a lesson, select the Start button. Selecting the Start button takes you to your chosen lesson from the course. The first page of every lesson gives you a summary of what you will achieve in the lesson. Select Start to go to the topics in each lesson and a self-assessment that helps you know your current understanding of the topic before you dive in.

Question. Do I have to finish the course I started in one session?

You can go through and complete a course at your own pace. Your progress is saved automatically and you can pick up from where you left off when you next log in. However, if you are in a middle of an activity (eg a quiz), you will need to finish that activity in the same session.

Question. How do I continue a course that I have left from a previous session?

Answer. You can see all the courses you have started on your dashboard.

From your dashboard, you will be able to see all courses that you have started and are still in progress, including the percentage completed. Selecting any course link will take you to the course progress page. From there you can continue the activities you have not completed.

Question. Will I get a certificate after I complete a course?

Upon completing a course, the certificate of completion will be available for you to download. Also, all certificates for courses you have completed will be available for you to download from your dashboard.

Question. How do I search for something?

Answer. You can search the wide base of articles using the search bar.

If you want to look up any information, you can type a keyword in the search bar, which is situated at the top right of the website. You can also refine your search by using the facets found on the left-hand side. You may refine by Phase (planning, implementation, validation, reflection), Role (principal, teachers, etc...), Type of resource etc.

Question. How do I bookmark something?

Answer. You can save a resource by selecting the bookmark button found on every page or at the right-hand side of each resource in the Resource and Tools page and in a search result page.

Each page on the NCCD Portal has a floating menu towards the right side that allows you to bookmark the page. Although you can bookmark a page without signing in, when you are signed-in you can group the bookmarks into separate lists and email this list to yourself or your colleagues. Access these lists from your dashboard.

Question. How do I share resources via email?

Answer. You can share resources via email by selecting the email button on the right side of a page.

Each page on the NCCD Portal has a floating menu towards the right side that allows the user to share the page via email. When you select the email button, the system will open up your email with the resource link in the text. You can then proceed to enter the recipients’ mail addresses. As a signed-in user, you can also share your ‘bookmark lists’ via an email.
